David Morris ‘The London Jeweller’ has chosen Qatar’s high-profile annual luxury jewellery event to introduce its new retail design concept. It reimagines the brand’s most recent boutique opening in Doha’s Katara, itself inspired by the jewellery house’s flagship boutique on London’s legendary Bond Street. Once again, the jewellery house looked to long-time collaborator Studio Eivind, the London-based creative team responsible for designing its boutiques worldwide, to bring its ambitious vision for the Doha exhibition space to life.
The brand has been showing at the fair since 2005 and at this year’s Doha Jewellery & Watches Exhibition, which takes place from 20 to 25 February, David Morris will transform its exhibition area into a spacious boutique that offers visitors all the magic of stepping into one of the brand’s permanent spaces, if only for a limited time. Spanning 50 sqm, the exhibition boutique presents many hallmarks of a David Morris flagship boutique.
Clients are invited to browse fine jewellery collections and selected high Jewellery pieces in glossy Japanned lacquer cases lined with dusty rose-pink silk satin, a signature colour of the house. Wood-panelled walls are adorned with decorative murals and specially selected, hand-drawn sketches from the David Morris archive, while plush bespoke carpets in a grid pattern nod to the marquetry-style marble flooring that you will find in the brand’s stand-alone boutiques. To the rear of the space, ornate brass doors inspired by Italian Modernist villas lead to two private viewing suites, where clients can view and try on their favourite pieces in absolute privacy amongst sumptuous soft furnishings.
