Blue agate is representative of positivity and uplifting energy; pink opal promotes inner peace and calm; green chrysoprase fosters a sense of joy, love and contentment; and, symbolic of the sea, mother of pearl brings balance and harmony. An invitation to take control of your destiny and embrace your personal style, these powerful, feminine jewels are designed to be mixed, matched and layered your way.
Fortuna: The ancient Roman goddess of fortune
This sophisticated fine jewellery collection explores the fascinating concepts of luck and destiny through designs that deftly combine classic House signatures with a strong female influence.
Fortuna – which means ‘she who brings’ – was a Goddess revered for both her beauty and strength, and the power of women has shaped this collection bearing her name. In astrology, the term ‘Pars Fortuna’ also represents a point in the zodiac marking the most fortuitous positions of the Sun, Moon and Ascendant in an individual’s birth chart. This complex combination of placements is thought to define one’s actions and bring a deeper
understanding of how we can take control of our unique destiny.
“I was very much influenced by the evolving way in which women are wearing jewellery today”, says Jeremy Morris, CEO & Creative Director, of his approach to this collection. Individuality is increasingly important, so with Fortuna I wanted to give women various options – to layer designs together and with other favourite pieces, to choose from different coloured gemstones, and to wear from day through to night. The versatility of this collection offers endless opportunity for the client to experiment, and make the pieces her own.”
Majestic gemstones and ancient tales
Throughout the ages, gemstones and crystals have held much power and meaning, and the Fortuna collection centres around three softly coloured gemstones with reputed energetic properties.
Symbolic of the ‘wheel of fortune’ associated with the Goddess Fortuna, and the cyclic nature of life, circular motifs and silhouettes are used across the collection’s designs. Luminous discs of precious pink opal, blue agate, green chrysoprase and Mother of Pearl are beautifully enhanced with a crescent of scintillating white pave diamonds, a nod to astrological charts, and are set in either rose gold or yellow gold.
Blue agate represents positivity and uplifting energy, whilst pink opal is the crystal said to promote inner peace and calm. Chrysoprase, an unusual green gemstone, is thought to foster a sense of joy, love and contentment. Completing the collection of gemstones is Mother of Pearl, a protection stone that symbolises the healing power of the sea, bringing balance and harmony.
Fine Jewellery which goes beyond the exterior
The collection’s range of styles, designs and colours speak to the wearer’s individuality, personality and personal sense of style – in essence, what the modern woman desires from her jewellery.
Dainty bracelets and stud earrings are wonderfully wearable, everyday pieces, and the collection’s earrings and pendant designs are available in two sizes, enabling the wearer to choose from a subtler or more dramatic look, while the stunning and beautifully crafted collar design and matching bangle are a contemporary twist on statement jewels. Several Fortuna pieces feature subtle references to the brand’s much-loved and best-selling Rose Cut design and adorned with one of the world rarest gemstones, the Opal.
The Fortuna necklace and bangle in particular draw upon the distinctive shapes of this most iconic collection, lending a quintessentially David Morris feel to a collection that is feminine, strong and subsequently highly original.
